Community Spotlight- Gloria’s Hallmark Shop
We love to highlight local businesses but we really love it when the business has been in the same family for so long that we see generational change in its leadership! Such is the case with our own Gloria’s Hallmark Shop in Morehead City. This beautiful little shop provides its visitors with a bounty of gift ideas, toys, puzzles, and of course, the always popular Hallmark Cards. Started in 1978 by Miss Gloria herself, this icon has been serving both residents and visitors alike- always with a friendly, helpful, and welcoming staff. After Miss Gloria, the gauntlet was passed to her daughter, Lisa who runs the store with the same grace that her mother did. If you haven’t checked out Gloria’s Hallmark in the Cypress Bay Plaza, do yourself a favor and prepare to be impressed!

Living in a small town certainly has its benefits. One such benefit is being able to support locally owned businesses whose owners are our friends and neighbors. We are highlighting one such business - Bradberry Garner Real Estate. The folks at Bradberry Garner advertise that they can provide “an elevated experience for every lifestyle” but they do more than that. Their team doesn’t just sell real estate, they make lifelong friends and live by the motto “treat others as you would like to be treated”. Bradberry Garner Real Estate regularly gives back to the community and county that they serve. Their annual PAWTY that they hold to support the Carteret County Humane Society is always fun and generates much needed supplies for our four-legged friends. Another awesome community event is Bradberry Garner’s Community Easter Egg Hunt held at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Park in downtown Morehead City! This year’s egg hunt will take place on March 23 and is free for all! Egg hunting times are: 10AM for 3-5 year olds, Immediately after for 6+ year olds and a continuous bunny field for 0-2 years.
